Moveable Walls & Art Show
The plans were signed, sealed, and delivered and now the request for the construction permit is in! Word out on the street is that it takes about a month for the permits to be reviewed and approved. The timing is great since the current tenant next door has the space until the end of July. We get the keys five days after they vacant and then... walls are coming down!
Speaking of walls, this renovation revolves around them and now we are going to have a couple of walls that revolve around the space. In addition to the demolition of walls, framing new walls, breaking through walls to make doorways, and adding plumbing to walls, our carpenter is going to build us moveable walls!
On Tuesday morning - very early AM- I woke up with a jolt thinking that wall partition we put on the plans were going to just destroy the vibe of our current classroom. We still need a safe way to partition off the space for two classes to go on at the same time in our current large open classroom. Eureka... moveable walls!
I am super excited about these moveable walls as they will allow us to break one big space up into two classrooms that can be adjusted according to how many are in the classes. They won't move much for our regular day-to-day classes, but when we have guest potters teaching workshops and larger events, we will have the flexibility to accommodate. Woo hoo!
Speaking of big events, we have one coming up... my solo art show! Save the date and join us on August 16 from 2-7PM for an Art Show and Sale of my Pottery and Plant-Stained Paper!
It's been a while since my last art show... six years, in fact. After 30 years of showing, I retired from exhibiting after my last appearance as an invited artist to Disney and the 2019 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. Physically, exhibiting had taken a toll on me; not just schlepping all my art around, but the actual production of it. Creating hundreds of pieces of original art each month takes a toll after a while.
So now, I have six years of original creations that I have been squirreling away, waiting for the most opportune time to release them out in to the world. Well, maybe only five years of creations. I think I spent a year sleeping since I didn't get much rest during the five years of showing at Disney.😳
Rest assured - no pun intended - that if you are not local to Lakeland, FL, you can still get your hands on one of my lovelies. Each piece will be photographed and listed on our website for online purchasing. We will ship throughout the US.
