In honor of all of the strength that our bodies put forth on a daily basis, I created The Body Collection. I began this collection last fall as I was slowly getting back into studio time during the recovery of my second brain surgery. I felt a pull from deep within me to create these silhouettes, impressing flowers and leaves into their “skin” forever marking them with nature and the blessing of renewal.

The mermaid pieces were just a natural for me to follow with. The significance of a body moving fluidly through water, a dance with earth’s element that is in itself the symbol of vast strength, the mermaid myths in various cultures never cease to amaze me and the fairy tales always enrapture my imagination.

Celebrate your body. Feel your strength. Rejoice in your beauty.

As pictured, this piece can be used as a flower vase, incense holder, and pen holder. She can also cradle a crystal. This piece truly brings an empowering flair when displayed as sculpture.
