Once a month gather with watercolors and painting journal for a mix of learning about cultures, art, and techniques that will transfer over to your pottery making and expand your individual creative style!

In my Art Journaling course, we immerse ourselves in a different subject matter each class, creating via a step-by-step sketching/painting approach that interprets the learning with visual expression.

Intended as a progressive curriculum, leaning into color theory, design elements, surface texture illusions, sketching and drawing tutorials in 2D has shown to improve finesse and flair in pottery both in the building stage and glazing stage. Art Journaling is an artistic skill builder that enhances intuitive responses on creative journeys.

This is a membership style class to ensure your spot in our progressive curriculum and to embrace a continuity of learning. If spots remain, we may offer open individual class registrations "a la carte" at a higher price.

I spent over 20 years teaching weekly art journaling in a variety of forms with a common motif… human interest topics that expand one’s engagement with the world. This course continues in that style with the additional emphasis on aspects relating to pottery. 

A Supply List with links to purchase my recommended versions will be sent to you upon registration. Supply list will include journal and watercolors among a few other things. My recommendations run about $120. The journal has enough pages for a year or more if only used for this class. You can find less expensive watercolor journals and watercolors than I recommend but results and ease of use will be different.
