The woven basket in clay is a lovely piece for home decor and function! It can hang on the wall and be a type of shelf for trinkets or small plant. It can sit on the counter and hold fruit, sit on a desk and hold note pads, or sit in a bathroom and hold meds. It is a wonderfully versatile piece that serves so many functions besides being fabulously fun!

Weaving in clay is quite challenging! There can be issues with the hydration levels being uneven that invite cracking, issues with the curve of the slab strips being stretched, and other complications. However, when it works successfully, it is quite the technique to behold!

Hand-built or hand-thrown by me on the wheel, each shape is unique and the colors are rich and glorious!

Made from mid-fire stoneware or porcelain clay, your lovely piece is technically dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. Take care of it though...it is one of a kind! Handwashing is recommended. (FYI - Putting cold liquid in ceramics of any kind and microwaving can cause cracking. Microwaving is not recommended.)
