Mud Works!

Each month, join Wandy for a themed adventure in

handbulding with stoneware clay! 

Instruction in creating and glazing according to a variety of themes. Join in for a month to see what it's like and keep coming to explore the world of possibilities!

Some months will make a variety of pieces. Some months will have pieces that take more than one week to construct. Check each description and please email studio owner, [email protected], with any questions prior to registration. All registrations are final.

It Takes a Christmas Village 

Saturdays October 4-21 9AM-Noon or

• Week 1: Sketching and shaping the base tiny houses, trees, bridges and inhabitants.
  
  
• Week 2: Design and shape tiny houses, trees, bridges or inhabitants arranging individual pieces into a shared village concept.
  
  

• Week 3: Embellishment week and assemble

• Week 4: Add color

November: Crocks With Personality

Wednesdays, November 5-26 6-9PM* (Alternative plans can be made for the evening before Thanksgiving if needed.)
or Saturdays November 1-22 9AM-Noon

• Week 1: Handbuilding, preparing slabs and planning individual themes.

• Week 2:  Sculpting faces, paws, tails or any character details!

• Week 3: Surface design and/or adding another piece to match with different size.

• Week 4: Final touches.

Class Info

    Classes focuses on developing hand-building techniques of pinching, slabbing, and coiling through guided instruction to complete specific projects.

Projects vary. Students are encouraged to follow their own intuitive take on each project.

4-Week Course information...

• 4 Weekly Instructional classes per month 3 hours each
• All clay included for non-members.
• Use of designated studio glazes included. 
  
• Use of studio equipment included 
• Students will need to purchase their own basic tool set and brush set - around $20 total. A list with links to recommended tools and brushes will be sent upon registration.
• Bisque and Glaze firings - schedule varies.
• All registrations are final and are non-transferable. 

*Minimum of 4 students per class. No make-ups for missed classes.

This course fulfills the prerequisite for receiving an invitation to Marvelous Mud Pottery Studio Monthly Membership that includes wheel throwing and handbuilding. This course is a combined member/non-member course and students invited to membership may choose to continue in this time slot or move to one of our other membership classes if there is an opening. Member rate is lower and offers perks!

Must be 18 Years or Older. No Walk-Ins. Only registered students are permitted in the studio.
